The Director of Residential Services will be responsible for administrative oversight, the regulatory compliance and daily operation of residential programs.
Assures that program services provide for the health, welfare and safety of consumers.
Manages the residential programs following the principals of Everyday Lives.
Provides a day-to-day variety of every day living services and care to people with disabilities using positive approaches with respect for individual rights.
The Residential Services program operates 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
This position may be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays and to fill in providing direct care services during time of staff shortage, call-offs, etc.
DIRECTOR - RESIDENTIAL SERVICES ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees the safety of the physical environment and addresses concerns in a timely manner; demonstrates knowledge of regulations by maintaining compliance with Title 55 Chapter 6100 and 6400s regulations within the community home, participates in annual inspections of the homes and develops a Plan of Correction to address the results of inspection.
Monitors status of implementation of Individual Support Plan, individual's rights, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality regarding company, employees and people we support.
Provides direct support in a backup role when necessary.
Will be required to provide direct support in Community Homes during staffing shortages.
Will be required to function as a manager or program specialist during staff vacancies.
Completes periodic physical site inspections; assists in obtaining and documenting necessary bids prior to purchasing items over designated amounts when requested.
Completes training and certification as an investigator and investigates incidents.
Provide follow through in accordance with the Incident Management policy.
Participates in the annual Licensing Instrument Inspection process.
Completes the Medication Administration Trainer Certification.
Perform the role of Point Person, Investigator and Administrative Reviewer with respect to Incident Management Procedures including ensuring the reporting of incidents via the state web-based incident Reporting System and ensuring the completion and documentation of all corrective actions related to incidents reported and all other duties detailed in the Incident Management Policy.
Ensures the protection of people we support from abuse and neglect; assesses and addresses health and safety concerns of people we support in the group homes.
Encourages people to exercise their rights; encourages and enhances personal decision making while setting aside personal bias; keeps personal files locked; promotes independence of people we support in the use of their personal finances.
Enhances personal rights; promotes self-esteem; increases community integration; serves as an effective role model.
Directs, supports, supervises and evaluates work activities of Community home managers, program specialists and assigned support staff.
Completes timely performance evaluations for all direct reports; Conducts performance evaluation meetings with staff; Provides timely and effective feedback to staff.
Determines the staffing needs, and assists with recruitment of staff; interviews and recommends hires for assigned job classifications.
Oversees and approves staffing patterns to ensure staffing ratios according to needs of people supported.
Monitors overtime for assigned homes.
Addresses personnel issues, resolves problems and conflict arising between employees, documenting action taken and communicates to the Regional Vice-President and staff members; including Human Resources as appropriate; assures fair accountability within the homes and for each staff member.
Review/monitors residential program expenses on a monthly basis, via Profit & Loss Statements, to ensure programs stay within budgetary constraints.
Oversight of the internal and external budgets, participates in development of annual program budgets.
Maintains a high level of dependability to include attendance at work and punctuality.
Performs other similar and related duties as necessary and/or as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Public Health, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Intellectual Disabilities or related field.
EXPERIENCE Five years in a supervisory position within the developmental disabilities and/or human service industry.
SPECIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES Knowledge of PA state/county intellectual disabilities and system.
Familiar with Multi-Year plans.
Familiar with principles of Everyday Lives.
Must be computer literate and learn and use applicable regulations.
Ability to relate to and work with people.
Must be alert, aware and agile.
LICENSURE Valid driver's license (must be maintained along with a safe driving record) Job Type:
