, a non-profit Area Agency on Aging, is seeking qualified applicants for multiple full-time older adult Protective Services Investigator positions.
In these positions, you will work directly with Protective Services departments in Blair County and across the state to assist with investigations into reports of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation and self-neglect for consumers over the age of 60.
Following your initial training that will take place in our Altoona office, you will primarily work from home and assist with or conduct investigations remotely.
This position requires a strong desire for producing quality and accurate work with a results-oriented focus.
The work involves critical and technical thinking and problem solving based on detailed knowledge of all pertinent facts and thorough analysis of relevant details.
There is an intense focus on complex, independent problem solving and self-direction.
The selected candidate must have a positive response to pressure and challenge, be a critical, creative thinker and problem solver who is able to work in a faster than average paced environment, and manage multiple priorities.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field and at least one year of social service or health care related experience.
In addition, applicants must be a strong consumer advocate who can maintain a balance of objectivity and empathy while dealing with consumers living in stressful or crisis situations, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working as a team providing support to other staff.
Advanced computer and documentation skills, the ability to work under strict timeframes, continuous access to a fully-insured vehicle, a valid PA driver's license and a proven safe driving record are also required.
The starting hourly wage will be $18.
29-$21.
95 depending on experience.
We offer a 34 hour Monday - Friday work week with the option of working four days, along with an excellent benefit package that includes a generous amount of paid time off available immediately upon hire, a retirement plan with an annual contribution rate of 7.
5% beginning on the first anniversary date, and group health insurance with a low monthly premium.
